Former Signal Co., 10th SFG(A), member, working on expanding my thesis project "The Evolution of Early American Special Operation Forces 1620-1783" [1986]. Since that time I have worked my way up to the post Wolrd War II period and am into the Cold War era. I am looking for some help from Special Ops. vets from the 1950-present, whom would like to add to my very detailed amercian special operations history. I am also still trying to back fill gaps like: WWII psyop units, Korean era Air Force resupply units, ect.. CONTACT me PLEASE at Post Office Box 9289, Boston, MA 02114-0033.

We were stationed together at Ft.Bragg. He is a 96B. If there is some way for me to get in touch with him it would be greatly appreciated.

hello,

I happened to be doing an assignment on terrorism when i came across specialoperations.com.

It is the best webpage I came across so far that includes links on weapons, aircrafts, games etc.

I'm impressed by the information that was given, the abundance of color and pictures gives you the interest to explore further.

I recom. a fan club for this page as a support to ban Worldwide terrorism

Thank you very much. Wei Yi, Phang. Singapore

I spent 12 years in the US Army, Army Reserves and Texas Army National Guard. I never knew much about the Green Berets when I was active. Something I regret. I never quite fit into a regular unit. The special feeling of belonging, working together, risking anything or everything to accomplish the mission wasn't there. I hated the peacetime military. The more I read, the more I realize I missed my calling. Everything the Special Forces means, does and how it operates fits into my way of doing things. I just wish as a young man I had realized that the Special Forces were exactly what I was looking for in the military. I admire the training of the Special Forces, their sense of duty, their desire to get the job done, their determination to work as a team, their willingness to sacrifice all for duty and mission. I think the American people do not appreciate the job they do, or what it takes to be good enough to do that job. If I had it to do over I certainly would have made every effort to qualify and succeed in the Special Forces. I admire their abilities, work ethic, training, determination and will power. I am just sorry I never got the chance. I know I missed my calling. Unfortunately, at age 49 it is too late for me, I just hope more young people will see the benefit of striving to attain what our Special Forces do every day. Keep up the great work, and may your spirit never die. You are appreciated. I just wish I could proudly say I had been a member of your elite organization. I served very proudly, did the best I knew how at the time, but it will never come close to what I whish I had done.

Hi Tom,

This is a post from Poland. This is the greatest SF site I've ever seen. A lot of usefull informations for people who have no posibillities to lear abot special forces from the ''spring''. Question: I've looked in several netchats rooms (marines, seals among others) and found out that theres a kind of competition between them. Everyone says: ,,Im the toughest special forces operator because I came from Marines/SEALS/Rangers/Green Berets and all of you rest are pussycats'' What tha hell is going on? I don't get it. Is there a ,,hate'' between each special forces corps or just they don't like each other like children in the sandbox?

I am Richard Hanson. In 1970 I served in Vietnam as an Army Captain. My duty assignments included MAT Team Leader, DDA, Operations Officer, and a period of "duty unassigned.." As a Cambodian Linguist and former Special Forces Operations Officer, I led or participated in several highly classified operations along the Cambodian border or in Cambodia itself, on behalf of the Embassy. My service records also verify that I was awarded a Silver Star and earned the Purple Heart during this time. I would like to hear from former embassy officials, including the CIA Field Agent in Chau Doc Province in 1970.

Nice site. Like how you pop into Delta Force games and say "Visit http://www.specialoperations.com" and leave :). Either you or someone using the name Tom Hunter.

You need to add "Operation: Delta Force" and "Operation: Delta Force 2" to your movie list...pretty bad movies if I do say so myself.

Drop by http://www.novacentral.com some time. Again, very nice site and keep up the good work.

Mr.Hunter

Your web site is excellent and well produced, you are offering a great service to civilians interested in our armed forces and what they offer. I'd like to make a request if possible. A unit of the Marine Corps could use some explaining to the general public. I'ts FAST Co. this unit is talked about quite frequently on your on-line chats for the corps, but no one seems to know much about them. And i know that you would do an excellent job. Keep up the good work.

If you have a speical op's site, then why have you not got the two greatest units in the world, the SAS & SBS on the main page, after all when USA first decided to set up an marine unit the Seals, the SBS trained the first members and the SAS are the most elite men in the world.

Thank you for providing this important web page and guest book. I served in a special operations environment off and on from October 1967 - October 1968, approximately 5 - 6 months during that period. I was the helicopter gunship platoon leader (Crocodile Six) of the 119th Assault Helicopter Company (Pleiku) working out of FOB-2, Kontum, for the USA Special Forces engaged in SOG / Prairie Fire and Daniel Boone Missions. It was the most challenging, fun, scary, dangerous, exciting (simultaneously) time of my life. I will be forever grateful for the experience, but more grateful for having known and worked with such great people, such as Fred Zabitosky, P. J. McIntyre, Dallas Longstreath, MSG Flores, Snake, Squirrel, Dai Wi Loc (Kingbees / H-34 Choppers), the Covey Guys, the USAF Hobos (A1-Es), the guys up on Leghorn, and many more. Thank you all for helping my platoon do its mission right, for helping us help you, and for helping us survive many tough situations. De Oppresso Liber. I am a life member of the SFA (A-877) and an annual member of the SOA (1592-GA). Thanks for letting me comment. God bless America, our Flag, and our Constitution. Remember the MIA / KIA. Don L. Martin, Crocodile Six, Major, USA, Infantry, Airborne, Aviation (retired) . . . CrocSix@aol.com.
